Job Description
What will you be doing
Were looking for a Radiation Physics Engineer to support a major nuclear programme where precision modelling shielding design and safety assessments are key to protecting people and systems from ionising radiation.
This is a great opportunity to apply advanced nuclear physics knowledge in a high-impact regulated environment working closely with multidisciplinary teams on reactor systems shielding design and compliance with nuclear safety standards.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Modelling and simulating radiation transport using industry-recognised tools.
- Supporting the design of radiation shielding and protection systems for nuclear facilities.
- Conducting dose rate calculations activation analyses and radiological assessments.
- Interpreting and applying nuclear safety standards and radiation protection regulations.
- Collaborating with engineers and safety teams to ensure compliance throughout the lifecycle of the project.
- Preparing technical documentation and presenting analysis results to internal stakeholders.
Who are we looking for
- Solid foundation in nuclear or radiation physics.
- Experience in radiation shielding protection or transport modelling.
- Hands-on experience with Monte Carlo simulation codes ideally MCNP.
- Exposure to Attila4MC or similar deterministic transport software (a bonus).
- Familiarity with nuclear regulatory requirements and radiological safety standards.
- Strong communication skills and ability to document technical findings clearly.

Qualifications :
Experience skills and qualifications required:
- Degree (or higher) in Physics Nuclear Engineering or a related discipline.
- Demonstrable experience working in the nuclear sector or a radiation-heavy environment.
