Position Summary
The Computer Science Department is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic instructor to teach ENGR 104: Introduction to Engineering. This foundational course is designed for first-year students across all engineering disciplines and focuses on cultivating problem-solving abilities algorithmic thinking and technical communication skills in a multidisciplinary engineering context. Candidates will be considered for a one-year non-tenure track Instructor position subject to annual renewal.

Detailed Position Information
ENGR 104 supports students from all engineering majors and serves as a gateway to success in the engineering curriculum. The course helps build foundational skills in structured problem solving modeling and technical communication that are broadly applicable across engineering fields. The instructor will play a critical role in helping students transition into college-level STEM coursework while promoting student engagement resilience and curiosity.
Course delivery includes lectures labs group work and projects contextualized by real-world engineering problems. Collaboration with faculty in engineering and computing-related fields is expected to ensure that course content reflects current and emerging industry expectations.

Minimum Qualifications
The candidate must meet all the following required qualifications:

Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering Education or a closely related field
Demonstrated ability to teach at the college level
Knowledge of algorithmic thinking and basic computational problem-solving
Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience teaching first-year engineering or computing students Familiarity with MATLAB Python or similar technical computing tools Experience with interdisciplinary or project-based learning models Commitment to diversity equity and inclusion in STEM education
