The Administration team within the Major Projects Directorate of Transport Scotland is responsible for providing administrative support to three Design Teams regarding the design assessment and promotion of a number of key infrastructure projects on the Motorway and Trunk Road Programme including the flagship A9 Dualling Programme improvements to the A96 and the A83 Rest and be Thankful.
This B2 Project Administrator post will involve elements of policy delivery and staff management. You will prepare high quality Ministerial Correspondence answers to Parliamentary Questions Ministerial Submissions and Briefings and the like including liaising closely with other Transport Scotland and Scottish Government teams including Private Office to provide a high quality service in accordance with corporate and statutory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of Ministerial Correspondence Official Replies Freedom of Information and Environmental Information Regulations Requests Chief Executive replies answers to Parliamentary Questions/First Minister Questions and speeches to the high standard expected by the Scottish Government and ensuring that responses are accurate easy to read and issued within set timescales.
- Providing advice and guidance to colleagues on Ministerial Government and Parliamentary processes.
- Liaise regularly with Project Managers within Project Delivery to maintain up-to-date knowledge of project progress and current issues to develop and update latest lines and briefs for correspondence.
- Liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including a range of business areas in Transport Scotland (including Transport Scotland Legal Advisors) and the Scottish Government alongside Ministerial Private Offices.
- Direct line management responsibility including work allocation and prioritising work to ensure objectives are delivered for a combined team based in Glasgow.
- There may be a requirement to work closely with colleagues across the wider administration team to provide additional administrative support at peak times.

Working Pattern

Location
This post is based inGlasgow with hybrid working in line with current Transport Scotland policies. You will be expected to be office based twice per week pro rata.
