As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank - Payments Technology team you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance build and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure stable and scalable way. As a core technical leader you are responsible for driving critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firms business objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture development and maintenance of modular Android frameworks with a focus on security scalability and performance.
- Design and implement secure authentication flows including OAuth2/OIDC biometrics and device attestation.
- Ensure platform integrity through root detection and runtime protection measures.
- Develop clear developer-friendly SDK APIs with comprehensive documentation and example projects.
- Adopt and implement latest Android technologies such as Kotlin Coroutines Jetpack Compose and Android Jetpack libraries.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align SDK interfaces and security protocols.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Write robust unit and integration tests and contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to SDKs and mobile security.
Required Qualifications Capabilities and Skills
- Formal training or certification on data engineering concepts and 5 years applied experience.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and experience with Android SDK and Jetpack Compose.
- Deep understanding of mobile security concepts including OAuth2 OpenID Connect (OIDC) PKCE biometrics (Fingerprint/Face recognition) and secure storage (Android Keystore).
- Proven experience building and maintaining Android SDKs or reusable frameworks.
- Familiarity with Androids security APIs such as SafetyNet and Play Integrity.
- Strong knowledge of modern concurrency patterns in Kotlin (Coroutines).
- Experience with API design versioning and backward compatibility.
- Excellent leadership collaboration and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications Capabilities and Skills
- Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM) or other cross-platform shared business logic frameworks.
- Contributions to open-source Android SDKs or internal platform libraries.
- Familiarity with mobile telemetry crash reporting and analytics tools.
- Background in cryptography or secure protocol implementation.
- Experience with advanced Android build systems automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
