Position Title: Culinary Arts Teacher
Salary Range: Teacher Contract Salary
Contract Length: Contractual Year
Position Summary: This position requires a CTE Culinary Arts license or the candidate must be able to get an initial practitioners license under IDOE guidelines. This position will teach dual credit courses and must be able to meet post-secondary credentialing guidelines.

Job Description:
- Prepare and develop materials used in academic implementation when requested including course syllabi and program outlines in accordance with IN state standards (NLPS).
- Plan and deliver pathway curriculum in a highly engaging classroom and laboratory. Maintain and enter all required data for student grades attendance and discipline.
- Provide instruction in culinary skills in the foodservice industry safety and sanitation nutrition basic hospitality skills customer relations and career investigation.
- Plan curriculum that effectively prepares students for the successful completion of appropriate certification exams.
- Participate in an appropriate CTSO organization
- Participate in Career and Technical Education events and activities
- Establish a CTE advisory committee to help the program and provide updates to implement into ECE curriculum.
- Maintain student files training records Internship hours and observations and all reports concerning student certifications.
- Create and maintain a positive learning environment for students.
- Maintain and inventory Perkins materials all service tools equipment and technology.
- Work cooperatively with other CTE pathway instructors specialists and administrators.
- Follow building and district rules and procedures when performing assigned responsibilities.
- Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships by practicing good human relations with students staff parents and community partners.
- Other duties as assigned by the principal or director of CTE.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid qualified CTE: Culinary Arts 9-12 teaching license or
- Must be able to obtain at a minimum an Indiana Workplace Specialist I teacher license. Individuals may qualify for an occupational teaching license based upon three years (6000 hours) of directly related work experience within the field within the past five years. A traditional teaching license is desirable but is not required.
- Must be flexible positive and proactive in the ability to manage a 3-hour instructional block.
- Must have knowledge of industry standards and employment opportunities.
- Must be highly organized and able to prepare students for experiential activities.
- Must possess the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with students faculty and administration.
