The Boeing CompanyThe Safety Security and Airworthiness (SS&A) organization is seeking a 777X Regulatory Administration and Airworthiness Manager (Level K) to join our team in Everett Washington.Our objectives are supported by a collaborative environment defined by teamwork and a passion for leading with speed agility and ingenuity in an ambiguous and ever-evolving environment. We are seeking an individual who excels in that framework.
In this role the selected manager will oversee employee activities associated with securing the amended type certificate for the 777-9 development program while providing support as needed to the 777-8F. This position supports adherence to the ODA procedures manual and associated processes as well as regulatory agency requirements in support of Airplane Program business goals and is a functional leader to the 777X Development Programs team.
This position interfaces with the following teams in addition to others: Integrated Product Teams Regulatory Administration Functional leadership 777X Program Product Development FAA and EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency). This position also partners with Core Engineering on process requirements and implementation.
Position Responsibilities:
Coordinate and convey certification strategies objectives and status to the Federal Aviation Administration and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency
Navigate complex regulatory processes and landscapes while providing guidance to a network of stakeholders across all levels of management and non-management
Define and communicate the prioritization of certification tasks to internal and external stakeholders
Assess Applicant certification proposals and address related inquiries
Prepare/Facilitate discussions with program leaders and government agencies
Support employee development strategies and organizational endeavors related to enhancing employee engagement influence and expertise
Ensure ODA unit members are supported and have the time and independence necessary to carry out their regulatory responsibilities
Ensure ODA objectives and procedures are understood and implemented across the value stream
Ensure regulator actions are successfully implemented and closed
Manage budgets headcounts and staffing strategies
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science
2 years of experience working with regulatoryprocedures and processes
3 years of project management experience
3 years of experience leading teams and/or initiatives
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience with certification plans FAA issue papers and EASA certification review items
Experience working directly with regulators to resolve certification issues
Experience with FAA Orders 8110.4 and the ODA Procedures Manual
Experience with multiple airplane systems and teams
Experience with design and change management processes
