Job Description
St. Paul Academy and Summit School seeks candidates for the position of Girls Head JV Tennis Coach.
About St. Paul Academy and Summit School:
St. Paul Academy and Summit School (SPA) is a coeducational non-sectarian college preparatory day school serving more than 920 students in kindergarten through grade 12. Our two campuses are located approximately a mile apart in St. Paul Minnesota serving Grades K-5 on our Goodrich Campus and Grades 6-12 on our Randolph Campus. The school draws students from St. Paul Minneapolis and throughout the eastern and western suburbs.

Department: Upper School Athletics
Salary Range: $4000- $4200 based on experience
Description:
St. Paul Academy and Summit School is seeking applicants for the position of Girls Head JV Tennis coach for the fall season. The minimum time commitment includes potential weekday practice times after 3:00 p.m. and all matches. Weekends included as the schedule demands. Season runs from August 11th through late October.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Ability to communicate with High School aged girls as well as parents and Athletic Department Administration
Comprehensive knowledge of the sport of tennis
Coaching and/or playing experience in tennis
Experience/familiarity with rules and commitment to youth sports preferred
Willingness and ability to support the head coach of the program and contribute to team needs
CPR/AED Certification strongly preferred
Candidates will be required to demonstrate strong organizational skills effective communication skills with students parents and administration teach and develop essential tennis skills display positive game conduct and develop players ability to work together as a team. A qualified candidate should have coaching experience at the high school level. Candidates should support the mission of SPA and be able to contribute to the life of the School outside of their coaching responsibilities.
Other duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Creating a positive environment that promotes good sportsmanship.
Work closely with the other coaches and the US Athletics Directors to continue building this terrific program
Assist in creating well-organized and structured practices
Provides effective supervision and evaluation of all players
Create a rapport with the great community generating interest in the program
Be visible in the greater youth community
Show a willingness to create a compelling program where roles are clearly defined opportunities are provided for all
Recognize contributions of all; impress upon the athletes and parents that their efforts are valued
Participate as a positive team member in the development and support of excellence within the Athletic Department.
