Position Overview

We are seeking a highly self-motivated creative and enthusiastic professional to join the Wintrust Internal Audit team. We offer the opportunity to develop technical and general auditing skills while learning about the organization.

This position will contribute to the overall team success by performing risk-based audits. The incumbent will work in a collaborative environment while occasionally working independently with supervision. This role is a member of the Bank Operations Audit team under the guidance of an IT Audit Director and administratively reports to an IT Audit Manager while functionally executing work under the supervision of an Audit Project Manager. The incumbent will work closely the the audit team members internal audit clients risk management and compliance functions within the organization as well as external parties where applicable. The role is based in Rosemont IL with occasional travel to banking and non-banking locations in and outside of the Rosemont area.

What Youll Do

  • As part of a team participate in audits related to the bank operations

  • Engagements focus on topics such as Wires ACH Fraud Operations Branch visits Strategic Initiatives and Digital Channels

  • Actively participate in the successful and timely completion of assigned engagement deliverables pursuant to internal guidelines procedures and established milestones with high quality

  • Draft findings for the purpose of status updates audit reports etc. and ensures they are fully supported by relevant evidence and corroborated documented information

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university majoring in Accounting Business Administration Finance or a related field. A relevant certification (CIA CPA or CFE) a plus.

  • 0 to 3 years of relevant audit experience in public accounting or internal audit; entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.

  • Knowledge of internal audit processes (i.e. sampling testing and process/control walkthroughs) and work paper documentation skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with auditing software (TeamMate) a plus

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this role is $59000.00 - $77000.00 along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors such as a candidates qualifications skills and experience.
