Were looking for a dynamic and strategic Senior Finance Manager to join the Francis Crick Institute a globally recognised centre for biomedical research and innovation. Reporting to the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis and managing one Finance Analyst youll lead on budgeting forecasting strategic insight and long-term planning for your business areas. As a key business partner to senior leaders youll play a vital role in helping them understand the financial impact of their decisions ensuring we make the most of our resources in support of world-class science.
What you will be doing
Support the development of long-term strategic financial plans and models that influence and support decision-making*
Lead on the financial planning (budgeting forecasting and long term planning) delivering clear budgets developed in partnership with divisional directors.*
Supporting Crick leaders and the Head of FP&A in developing and delivering efficiency plans and maximising value for money
Providing insightful management information (both regular and ad-hoc) to support effective decision making*
Develop effective processes for reporting on budget forecast and actuals improving processes and data to enable more time for insight and decision support*
Lead on the Cricks capital planning process; supporting the development of capital portfolio plans and business cases to demonstrate value for money and best use of resources
Identify and seek resolution to complex problems within area of accountability explore new ideas and opportunities to drive improvements within the team
You will bring
A qualified accountant with significant post qualification experience and a record in business partnering or FP&A in a complex organisation
Familiar with using planning and analysis tools and systems (use of workday financials or adaptive insights is advantageous)
Strong experience of developing insightful financial reporting to suit a range of stakeholders
Able to demonstrate creative problem-solving ability based on analysis of complex data
Experience delivering change and process improvement in a finance environment
Experience of a research or a grant-funded organisation is beneficial
