Are you a driven and detail-oriented accounting professional ready to take the next step in your career Our client a growing leader in the real estate development and construction sector is seeking an Assistant Controller to join their dynamic finance team.
In this senior-level role youll play a critical part in managing full-cycle and project accounting functions including financial reporting payroll budgeting AP/AR and cash flow oversight. Youll lead a team of four and work closely with project managers site teams and leadership to support development projects and corporate initiatives.

What Youll Do:
- Oversee daily financial operations including payroll billing reconciliations GST filing and job costing
- Prepare and analyze financial and project reports to support planning and decision-making
- Lead budgeting and forecasting efforts cash flow analysis and progress draw preparations
- Mentor and support a team of accounting professionals
- Drive process improvements and collaborate with stakeholders across the business
- Ensure compliance with internal policies accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- 34 years of senior accounting experience in real estate development and/or construction
- CPA designation (or near completion) and a bachelors degree in accounting or finance
- Experience with Sage or ERP systems and strong Excel skills
- Strong leadership communication and analytical abilities
- Hands-on adaptable and ready to grow within a fast-paced collaborative environment
