Position Summary
The RN Clinical Lead Supervises daily staff activities for an assigned area or function. This position oversees the activities of the clinical unit and assigned staff during scheduled shifts provides patient care enhances department workflow and provides leadership at the point of care. Collaborates with the director and is the support for the unit when the director is unavailable.
Reports to: Director of Emergency Services
Responsibilities of the Position
Determines coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels.
Provides direction orientation training coaching and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
Assesses and ensures quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies procedures and protocols.
Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.
Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education
Associates degree in nursing is required.
Bachelors degree in nursing is preferred.
Certifications/Licenses
A current North Carolina or compact stated Registered Nurse (RN) license is required upon hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required within 30 days of employment.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are required within 6 months of employment.
Handle with Care (HWC) is required to be completed at time of hire.
Required Skills
Critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Ability to understand communicate and react effectively to patient and family needs. Excellent customer service skills.

Minimum Work Experience
2 years of experience in a health care setting is preferred.
