Open Rank Tenure Track Position Metabolic Physiology Assistant/Associate/ Professor Dependent upon Qualifications The Department of Nutrition and Integrated Physiology ( NUIP ) at the University of Utah seeks a Tenure Track faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor Associate Professor or Professor. We seek individuals with basic or early translational research programs directly related to the intersection of metabolism and disease demonstrating an outstanding record of research productivity related to discovering the metabolic underpinnings of physiological processes. We welcome applicants at all career stages with particular encouragement for early-career scientists who are in the process of launching their laboratories. The successful candidate will develop an independent extramurally-funded research program run out of laboratory facilities at the Eccles Institute of Human Genetics along with other labs from the Department of Nutrition & Integrative Physiology. The faculty will have additional memberships to the Center of Metabolic Health as well as the University of Utah Molecular Medicine Program helping the faculty appointee to foster an interdisciplinary research program relating to metabolic health. There will be access to outstanding research cores (e.g. metabolomics genomics bioinformatics etc.) and the ability to leverage resources from strategic research initiatives in the areas of Diabetes & Metabolism Neuroscience Chemical Biology Genomics and Immunology/Inflammation/Infection Disease ( and ). Some teaching mainly at the graduate student level will be expected. The faculty will also be expected to contribute to teaching by mentoring graduate students and serving on thesis committees.
