Job Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Provide clerical assistance and secretarial support to the Family Treatment Program staff so that they are available to provide interventions for the emotional and cognitive well-being of students.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Computer skills; ability to speak read write and follow written and oral instructions; skills in clerical organization and time management of clerical tasks

Experience:

One (1) year of experience in an office position preferably in a school environment preferred

Workdays: 201

Clerical/Technical Pay Structure:Pay Grade 2

Pay Date: Monthly

Hourly Pay Range:

Minimum: $14.70

Midpoint: $17.61

Maximum: $20.52

Note:Starting pay for a new hire in a pay range plan will be determined individually based on each persons job-related experience and salaries paid to peer employees in the same position with similar experience.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Perform the clerical duties to include budget.
  2. Assist in organizing campus activities assigned to the Prevention Intervention Specialist.
  3. Answer telephone and schedule conferences for the Prevention Intervention Specialist.
  4. Perform general office duties such as duplicating materials and filing.
  5. Assist the Prevention Intervention Specialist in explaining to parents the referral process for Family Treatment Program.
  6. Coordinate with License Professional Counselors schedules.
  7. Set appointments with parent student triage.
  8. Drop off intake packets to hospitals.
  9. Follow McAllen ISD customer service standards.
  10. Perform other duties assigned by immediate supervisor (primary evaluator).

None

EQUIPMENT USED:

Computer copiers and other office machines

Mental Demands:

Ability to adjust to stressful unscheduled situations; dependability and punctuality.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Ability to lift boxes weighing at least ten pounds.
