Job Description

Full-Time Science TeacherFather John V. Doyle School located in Coventry Rhode Island is a vibrant PreK8 Catholic school dedicated to academic excellence faith formation and the holistic development of the whole Mission of Father John V. Doyle School is to provide students with a solid well-rounded education based on Roman Catholic Tradition. We live the Word of God in a caring safe and nurturing OverviewFull-time science teacher position beginning with the 2025 academic year. The teacher will deliver engaging and standards-aligned instruction in:5th-8th Grade Science and Science Enrichment STEM ClassesScience/STEM After-School program 2x/weekKey Responsibilities:Teach science curricula aligned to school state and Diocese of Providence life earth and physical science units with a strong emphasis on experimentation inquiry and real-world labs hands-on projects and STEM enrichment activitiesDifferentiate instruction to support varied learning levels and provide targeted interventionsEnsure that lessons in science reflect and uphold our Catholic valuesPromote the integration of faith through curricular contentTeacher Expectations:Create and maintain a positive respectful and nurturing classroom environmentUse formative/summative assessments and data to guide differentiated instructionManage classroom routines transitions and behavior effectively in alignment with school and Catholic traditionWork closely with faculty and staff to coordinate and align interdisciplinary programsParticipate in faculty meetings curriculum planning sessions professional development and retreats school massesCommunicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress behavior and classroom happeningsAssist in organizing and chaperoning school-wide initiatives (science fairs field days Catholic Schools Week)Support after-school clubs (STEM Club)Maintain a visible leadership role in the school community through assemblies liturgies or service :Bachelors degree in Middle School Science Science Education or related field in scienceValid Rhode Island Teacher Certification in Science or eligibility to obtain itClassroom experience with middle and elementary school studentsStrong organizational communication and interpersonal skillsCommitment to integrating Catholic values with teaching practices and embracing the schools missionPracticing Catholic in good standing with the church or supportive of faith-based education and able to teach embrace and live Catholic Social & CompensationStatus: Full-time faculty approx. 3740 hours/week exclusive of supplementary dutiesWe are exploring a potential differentiated start and end time to accommodate the after-school programs 2x/weekSchedule: Traditional 10-month school-year calendarCompensation: Competitive salary based on education and experience; benefits include health insurance retirement contributions and professional development supportHow to Apply A letter of interest highlighting your science teaching experience and your embrace of the Catholic educational missionA current resume/CVCopies of RI certification(s) if availableEmail to: Principal Mary Trichter line: MS Science Application
