I. General Description: To provide all students and staff with a physical learning environment which is safe clean and of high quality; To provide technical expertise oversight and planning supervision to new school construction and renovation projects.
II. Qualifications:
- Five years of school-related operational experience or
- Three years of school-related construction / facilities management experience or
- Three years supervisory or administrative experience or
- A.A. or equivalent Bachelors degree preferred
III. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recommends and administers budget for maintenance grounds custodial supplies equipment construction/remodeling projects and personnel.
- Coordinates with the Director of Business Services and the Superintendent the development and implementation of a long-range facility plan.
- Develops and implements a yearly Operations Improvement Plan aligned to Governing Board goals.
- Assists in the recruitment employment assignment transfer promotion demotion or dismissal of personnel under his/her supervision.
- Evaluates staff on a regular basis and makes recommendations for staff development and improvement.
- Coordinate work schedules with Transportation Director on employees working in Transportation and maintenance/custodial services.
- Oversees all custodial grounds and maintenance staff and work directly with all administrators to ensure the Departments improvement plan is being met monitoring all work order completions and feedback assisting in the planning of an annual operations work plan and other duties as outlined on the Supervisors job description.
- Organize and insure the implementation of an orientation and training program on proper operation and maintenance of school facilities and equipment.
- Oversees and maintains appropriate records necessary for the maintenance and operation in accordance with District policy the Arizona Department of Education Arizona School Facilities Board and the Uniform System of Financial Records.
- Organizes and implements a program of preventive maintenance and energy management as specified by the School Facilities Board and in accordance with Arizona Revised Statutes.
- Conducts periodic inspection of all school facilities to ensure fire safety as well as to review performance standards of workers.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

- Serve as Construction Project Manager for the district.
- Plans supervises and ensures that all improvement and renovation work are performed at high quality.
- Represents District during construction meetings with architect and/or contractor in all new and on-going construction projects.
- Responsible for monitoring and compiling all information needed for School Facilities Board (SFB) Reports.
- Monitors and keeps accurate computer records for all keys issued.
- Oversees the operation of playing fields grounds and other necessary facilities for athletics and other school activities.
- Reviews on a regular basis all security precautions and procedures and recommends additions changes or reductions in service as appropriate.
