School Bus Driver
Days are Monday - Friday Salary: AFSCME Union Contractual pay scale: 2024-2025 School Year: $26.22 per hour
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspects assigned vehicle before and after use.
- Provides transportation for special needs students to and from schools.
- Observes all safety and traffic regulations regarding proper operation of school buses.
- Follows prescribed routing with regard to uniform pickup and discharge of students.
- Assists in the orderly boarding and discharge of students assigned to the vehicle.
- Assists students on the vehicle during emergency situations or during bus evacuation drills.
- Provides the Transportation Supervisor with information regarding the condition of the vehicle or student problems to ensure the safety of all riders.
- Reports all accidents to the Transportation Supervisor.
- Maintains the cleanliness of assigned vehicle.
- Submits to random alcohol and drug testing as required by law.
- Assumes other such responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Transportation Supervisor.
- Bilingualism is a highly desired skill for a position but not a requirement
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid DPU School Bus Operators license.
- Valid CDL License required with passenger endorsement air brakes if applicable.
- At least two years experience with bus company.
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Must pass pre-employment physical examination (new employees).
- Willingness to receive CPR training.
