With over 80 years in the sawmill business Hampton operates sawmills in Oregon Washington and British Columbia and markets wood products all over the world. Hampton also manages a wholesale and lumber export division and numerous reload remanufacturing and engineered wood manufacturing and sales operations throughout the U.S. through affiliates Idaho Timber and RedBuilt. All of Hamptons forestlands are certified by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) an independent non-profit organization that promotes sustainable forest management. SFI-certified forests play an important role in water conservation wildlife habitat and climate solutions.

Overview

The position of journey level millwright will be responsible for understanding their mechanics of working machinery maintaining troubleshooting repairing and installing equipment and facilities on the plant site. Will have the ability to establish a working relationship with maintenance production and management personnel to achieve the goals of the organization. Ability to understand and work with work order systems machine histories scheduling warehousing and related maintenance fields.

Wage: $42.06 (87484 annually) which does not include any applicable shift differential. Production bonuses are possible for every employee each month based on the plant sites target goals.

Work Schedule: Friday-Sunday 5:00am-3:30pm followed by one 10 hour shift one day during the week. Day to be determined. The schedule is subject to change based on the needs of the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Proficient in welding cutting
  • Understand pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Proficient use of all tools relate to the trade.
  • Good hand/eye coordination.
  • Capable of working on ladders walking stairs and on uneven surfaces.
  • Be able to operate and/or learn to operate all facility equipment to the degree needed for troubleshooting and testing.
  • Assist production personnel to maintain the flow of product.
  • Working knowledge of work orders and kitting process.
  • Attend any training necessary to upgrade performance.
  • Operate machinery in a safe manner so injury does not occur to operator or any employee in the area.
  • Notify supervisor of any problems that arise during the shift.
  • Train any employees as assigned by supervisor.
  • Work overtime as necessary.
  • Clean shop and maintain proper housekeeping to promote a safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • Journey Level Industrial Millwright experience
  • Obtain required Hampton certifications
  • Have strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Strong attention to details good organizational skills be a self-starter ability to prioritize tasks and self-motivated.
  • Proficient in Word Excel and Outlook is preferred but not required.
  • Lift up to 50lbs. daily
