Job Description

Job Summary
The Borrowing & Course Materials Coordinator makes library resources available to the students staff and faculty of University of Utahs main campus to support their learning and research activities. This position assists in the management of Course Materials and processes course-assigned resource requests purchases materials for the library collection markets Library and Campus Course Materials services and troubleshoots high-level questions. Acts as the department liaison to the Open Reserve collection. Assists the department manager with various special projects and provides high-quality customer service and support. Assists the Borrowing Supervisor in borrowing receiving and returning materials owned by other libraries (Borrowing requests) as well as providing electronic access to journal articles and book chapters from the Marriott Librarys print collection and electronic resources (Document Delivery requests). Work time for this position is split equally between Borrowing and Course Materials though fluctuation is expected throughout the academic year. This position is required to work on campus full-time. Telecommuting will only be authorized for occasional/exceptional circumstances. Responsibilities
Process Course Materials in Alma and Leganto troubleshoots technical issues in Alma and Leganto for Course Materials and answer high-level questions from course librarians and campus faculty. Analyze and assess Campus Course Materials data to for the Utah Day 1 Access program to ensure streamlined student access to assigned resources. Promote the Utah Day 1 Access Program and the use of Course Materials in Leganto for faculty. Process and track Borrowing and Document Delivery requests by using our ILL management system (ILLiad) Integrated Library System (Alma) public-facing web discovery system (Primo/USearch) and subscribed databases. Verify new users status and affiliation with University of Utah verify and correct patron provided citations verify the Marriott Librarys ownership of requested materials and route in-house material requests to the Document Delivery module. Retrieve and provide accurate and good-quality scanning of various library materials such as books journals and microform promptly. Process incoming and outgoing materials and prepare for shipping. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Four years library experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); knowledge of specialized library techniques and principles as well as research and organizational skills required; demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required. Some supervisory experience may be preferred. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
