JOB DESCRIPTION: Will coordinate the services and program participate in growth by improving efficiencies standards and performance of the service line. This position is responsible for assisting with planning implementing and coordinating services and activities associated with the service line. The service line coordinator acts as a clinical liaison and assists with overseeing the technical and clinical aspects of the specified service line. The service line coordinator will participate in training and mentoring of new staff members enhancing staff skills and knowledgebase. Assists in identifying staff education needs based on clinical situations and recommends appropriate in-service. The service line coordinator will work with surgeons nurses first assistants and scrub techs to streamline and standardize the service line to improve efficiency and quality of care. The service line coordinator will be required to maintain surgical tech skills and assist with surgical procedures on a routine basis assist with troubleshooting movement setup and breakdown. Ensure supplies to support the program are available and in good working order. Assist with maintaining inventory/par levels and assist in keeping preference cards up-to-date. Possess the ability to communicate effectively be self-directed and comfortable with managing multiple responsibilities of the program including clinical administrative educational and promotional components. Ability to complete other duties as necessary to support the operating room including but not limited to scrubbing and other support for other service lines as needed. On-call may be required; variable per operating unit and staffing. MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program OR equivalent experience. Must be able to function as a clinical expert in the specified service line.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 2 years surgical tech experience. 1-2 years experience within specific service line preferred.
