Amazon Kids helps all kids safely learn play and communicate through content that kids and parents love including books Audible books movies TV shows educational apps and games music skills and more. We provide peace of mind for parents with parental controls and a world of fun for kids to choose from thousands of the most popular titles and age-appropriate content. Kids is available as a child-friendly experience on Fire Tablets Fire TV Kindle e-readers Android and iOS mobile devices and Alexa devices. We have quickly gained critical acclaim and won the prestigious KAPi (Kids at Play Interactive) award for best hardware and service at CES 2013 and 2019. Learn more at 1000s of great titles to choose from our goal is to show each customer what they want to watch/read/play without them searching for it. We do this through features like Apps & Games You Might Like Popular Movies & TV and Discover to name a few. We use data to learn our customers interests develop Machine Learning models to make up-to-date personalized recommendations for each of them and to measure the improvements that we make to their enjoyment. Leading by example we drive experimentation across the organization testing our hypotheses making data-driven decisions and iterating. We collaborate with our partners to turn great ideas for driving engagement into dynamic algorithms that scale to each customer. Architecture and performance are also vital to delivering continuously-improving recommendations to our customers with low latency and high reliability. You will own and drive engagement initiatives that apply to one or more of our supported devices and their customer bases across the entire software lifecycle. This involves working closely with our scientists on analysis designing and implementing a scalable solution for both accuracy and performance and iterating based on experimentation. While we have tons of great projects already in mind this is also a great opportunity to think big about how to improve the customer experience. Bring your ideas and lets test them out!
- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
