Job Description

The Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships at the University of Florida is currently seeking a Manager to lead financial aid operations and supervise a team of five professionals in the Processing Special Programs and Student Employment area. In this role you will oversee essential verification and compliance processes while ensuring exceptional service delivery in federal aid processing special program administration and student employment.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Leadership & Team Management

  • Supervise a team of full-time staff members in the Processing Special Programs and Student Employment unit.
  • Oversee daily operations for document verification eligibility reviews and student employment.
  • Guide team decisions on financial aid adjustments appeals and special circumstances.
  • Streamline processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Financial Aid Processing & Compliance

  • Direct the review and processing of student financial aid applications and supporting documents.
  • Ensure accurate verification of student eligibility and financial information.
  • Determine student aid packages across federal state and institutional programs.
  • Manage compliance requirements for all aid programs.
  • Calculate and process aid adjustments for students who withdraw.
  • Coordinate aid processing for study abroad and visiting students.

Other Duties

  • Represent the office at financial aid events and professional conferences.
  • Lead special projects to improve student service and operational efficiency.
  • Assist leadership with developing and updating office policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

This position is located at the University of Floridas main campus in Gainesville FL. The selected candidate will work on site and may be eligible for a flexible hybrid work arrangement in accordance with the University of Florida and Division of Enrollment Managements policies.

Expected Salary:

$57000 annually

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Experience using and/or implementing various technologies (i.e. Campus Solutions CRM Microsoft Office Suite macOS)
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously including data analysis and presentations
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team toward organizational objectives
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of institutional goals and how financial aid administration decisions impact those goals
  • Strong holistic knowledge of federal aid programs and the interaction between those programs and institutional and state need and merit-based aid
