As a Full-Time Fleet Mechanic at The Arc of Chemung-Schuyler you will have the exciting opportunity to showcase your independent decision-making and problem-solving skills. To be successful as a Full-Time Fleet Mechanic at The Arc of Chemung-Schuyler you must possess a combination of technical skills and interpersonal abilities. Proficient diagnostic skills and a meticulous attention to detail are crucial for scheduling and performing preventive maintenance and mechanical repairs on our Non-DOT vehicles. You should be familiar with both original manufacturer parts and various computer programs for managing work orders and documentation. Equally important is your ability to make independent decisions and solve problems effectively as you will be responsible for diagnosing issues with key vehicle components such as brakes engines and electrical systems. Additionally your empathy and ability to work with individuals with developmental and physical disabilities will enhance the positive impact of your role ensuring safe transportation and supportive interactions.
Flexibility and a willingness to assist with facilities maintenance as needed will also contribute to your success in this position.
