Through technology we seek to constantly increase the quality of promotions - by identifying the best set of products to promote across the millions we carry; and the best promotion type that meets the business objectives for our Selling Partners and Amazon while learning from the performance of our past promotions.
Key job responsibilities
The requirement is for someone who can rigorously use state-of-the-art methods and technologies in their area of specialization. The successful candidate will (1) contribute to existing development efforts already underway by infusing their deep knowledge of their field and technical prowess (2) identify new and promising uses of technologies that address novel problems in Promotions and (3) connect with other teams throughout Amazon to ensure that we benefit from innovations and progress across the company. If you are an experienced software engineer with a diverse skill-set and background who enjoys building innovative systems and works with large scale data sets then we would like to chat with you.
About the team
Our team is dedicated to supporting new members. We have a broad mix of experience levels and skills including Software Engineering and Data processing. We are building an environment that celebrates knowledge sharing and mentor-ship. We care about your career growth and strive to assign projects based on what will help each team member develop into a better-rounded professional and enable them to take on more complex tasks in the future.
- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
- Masters degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle including coding standards software architectures code reviews source control management continuous deployments testing and operational excellence
- Exceptional problem solving ability

The base salary for this position ranges from $114800/year up to $191800/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
