You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix Arizona is seeking a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in Orthopedic Trauma Foot and Ankle or Adult Reconstruction to join our new Orthopedic Acute Care Service. This position will work in close partnership with the Orthopedic Surgery Chief Resident Service and report to the Department Chair.
The Orthopedic Acute Care Service at Mayo Clinic Arizona provides specialized care for acute fractures musculoskeletal injuries and infections at our hospital in Phoenix. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional high-acuity orthopedic care and contribute to the advancement of the departments clinical research and educational missions.
A strong commitment to integrated clinical research and orthopedic education is expected. This is a full-time clinical/surgical position (1.0 FTE) with the expectation that the candidate will also develop a robust clinical research and educational portfolio. The primary focus is delivering outstanding care to patients with skeletal trauma and related conditions. The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team including junior and senior residents and advanced practice providers and participate in shared call responsibilities.
Clinical Service Expectations:
Provide on-site orthopedic care Monday through Friday managing both operative and non-operative acute musculoskeletal problems.
Maintain a consistent hospital presence including early morning rounding and discharge planning beginning at 7:00 AM with flexibility for surgical cases later in the day as needed.
Participate actively in a shared night weekend and holiday call schedule with 13 other attending surgeons.
Opportunity to develop a cold trauma practice for patients with complex fractures mal-unions non-unions and sequelae of acute injuries.
Board-certified or board-eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
Fellowship training in Orthopedic Trauma Foot and Ankle or Adult Reconstruction.
Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Arizona.
Demonstrated excellence in clinical care teaching and experience or strong interest in basic clinical or translational research.
