The ideal candidate will possess both a business background that enables them to drive an engagement and interact at the CxO/VP level as well as a technical background that enables them to easily interact with software developers and architects. He/she should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business product and technical challenges with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions and work cross-organizationally to build consensus. A keen sense of ownership drive and scrappiness is a must.

Key job responsibilities
- Serve as a key member of the Database Specialist team focused on helping to drive revenue and market share in a defined territory and within the public sector
- Meet or exceed quarterly revenue targets.
- Develop and execute against a comprehensive account/territory plan.
- Create & articulate compelling value propositions around AWS services specific to the CxO level.
- Accelerate customer adoption.
- Maintain a robust sales pipeline.
- Work with partners to extend reach & drive adoption.
- Develop long-term strategic relationships with key accounts.
- Ensure customer satisfaction.

- 7 plus years of technology sales business development or pre-sales support
- Database Management Systems experience (i.e. PostgresSQL MySQL Microsoft SQL or Oracle)
- Bachelor degree required
- Experience with customer facing roles (Enterprise/Strategic) and account management and solution selling ability.
- Experience selling positioning architecting and utilizing technologies like Amazon Aurora MongoDB Microsoft SQL server Apache Cassandra IBM Db2 or similar.
- Computer Science and/or Engineering/Math background highly desired; working knowledge of software development practices and data center /infrastructure / networking technologies highly desired.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
