Our client is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to support the full lifecycle of custom automation projects-from system design and programming to commissioning and final testing. This role blends technical precision with customer-facing responsibilities playing a key part in delivering high-quality automation solutions across diverse industries including pharmaceutical automotive and food and beverage. The ideal candidate brings strong PLC programming experience a passion for innovation and the ability to manage complex projects with minimal supervision.
Job Responsibilities -
- Execute end-to-end PLC and controls development for automated systems including architecture design testing and deployment.
- Partner with internal teams and client stakeholders to capture technical requirements and support system handoff and testing phases.
- Build configure and debug hardware and software solutions involving control panels PLCs drives sensors and robotics.
- Lead on-site system installation and final acceptance testing ensuring function accuracy and adherence to safety protocols.
- Generate and update design documentation such as control schematics logic diagrams and user manuals.
- Flag potential roadblocks early and implement preventive strategies to mitigate project risks.
- Continuously seek ways to streamline engineering workflows and enhance performance reliability.
- Provide post-deployment support and technical troubleshooting as needed.
Job Requirements -
- Four-year degree in electrical or computer engineering (or closely related field) is a must.
-At least five years experience building and commissioning automation systems with strong Allen Bradley PLC programming skills.
- Familiarity with robotic platforms such as FANUC or ABB and their integration with motion and vision systems.
-Able to interpret and produce electrical schematics and documentation using drafting tools.
- Working knowledge of safety and design standards relevant to industrial controls.
- Comfortable working independently to solve technical issues and keep projects on schedule.
- Clear communicator with experience presenting and working with clients directly.
- Willing to travel as needed to support system installations or site testing-typically around 25%.
