Job Description
As an Assistant or Associate Professor in the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program you will play a key role in delivering a welcoming high-quality educational experience for graduate nursing students particularly within the FNP track. This position promotes individualized advising and mentoring to support students successful progression and degree completion within the School of Nursing. The successful candidate will be committed to fostering an inclusive equitable learning environment that prepares students to deliver advanced practice nursing in a diverse healthcare landscape. This role requires collaboration with faculty the MSU clinical placement coordinator clinical sites/preceptors and academic stakeholders to facilitate student learning mentorship and growth toward professional competence. The position involves active engagement in continuous professional development as both a clinician and educator contributing to quality improvement and competency-based education in the DNP program.

This position requires a valid applicable drivers license as well as a DVS records check with an acceptable rating. For further information please refer to the Drivers License and Record Check Policy (HR/LR Policy #1419) which can be found at: School of Nursing is a welcoming equitable and inclusive environment offering innovative family- and society-focused technology-enhanced curricula for graduate and undergraduate students. We offer two programs leading to a Bachelor of Science degree which are the Pre-licensure and RN Baccalaureate of Science programs. The Pre-licensure program is offered at the Mankato campus and is an upper-division four-semester major with about 240 students enrolled. The RN Completion program is 100% online with an enrollment of approximately 600 students. Courses are primarily offered face-to-face on the Mankato campus with learning activities in our Maverick Family Nursing Simulation Center. The new Advanced Professional Nurse MS Degree Program is 100% online with a growing enrollment currently around 80 BSN-DNP/FNP program and the MSN-DNP track for APRNs are both hybrid programs largely online with some synchronous online meetings and monthly face-to-face seminars at the MSU Mankato Center for Graduate and Professional Studies located in Edina. The DNP programs have an enrollment of approximately 60 students preparing to be clinical leaders and primary care providers.
A supportive environment encourages interdisciplinary research development of teaching skills and community service. The Glen Taylor Nursing Institute for Family and Society associated with the School of Nursing provides opportunities for scholarly activity.
