The Keene Family YMCA is seeking a part-time Childcare Associate to work in their busy ChildWatch program. ChildWatch is a free childcare service for members which allows them to workout while their child has fun playing under the supervision of caring and attentive Y offers a competitive salary and benefits package including free membership and the opportunity to be part of a supportive team of dedicated professionals committed to strengthening community.

Essential Functions of the Childcare Associate

• Provide a positive experience to children and parents
• Assist with implementing the curriculum under established guidelines
• Supervise children ages 4 months-10 years
• Create a warm friendly safe environment for the children to play and thrive in
• Effectively communicate with parents regarding their children in the program
• Maintain positive relationships with parents volunteers and co-workers
• Maintain the program site and equipment
• Assist with maintaining program records

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Meets 80% to 100% of the following qualifications:

• Ability to perform duties with professionalism enthusiasm kindness empathy care honesty and respect.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
• At least 16 years of age.
• CPR First Aid and Mandatory Safety Training certifications within 45 days (about 1 and a half months) of hire.
• Child Abuse Prevention training and Y applicable training within 7 days of hire.
• A desire to work with children in a developmental setting.
• Ability to implement age appropriate developmentally appropriate program activities as directed.

PREFERED LEVEL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Has at least 5 years of experience in a Childcare setting.
• Has 2 years experience in implementing age-appropriate activities.
