Position Overview As Vice President of People & Culture youll play a critical role in shaping the employee experience and organizational culture at a time of meaningful growth and transformation. Reporting to the Chief People Officer youll lead our HR function with a deep understanding of the unique values and mission of the credit union movementputting people over profit fostering trust and building community. This is a hands-on leadership role that blends strategic vision with operational execution empowering a high-performing HR team and ensuring our people practices reflect our cooperative principles.
Key Responsibilities Strategic People Leadership - Design and implement HR strategies that align with our mission-driven goalssupporting talent acquisition employee engagement retention and organizational development in a member-focused environment. Operational Excellence - Stay actively involved in day-to-day HR operations offering practical support and guidance while maintaining a strategic lens on long-term workforce planning. Team Empowerment - Lead mentor and develop a collaborative HR team fostering a culture of service accountability and continuous learning. Policy & Regulatory Compliance - Ensure HR policies and practices are compliant with federal and state regulations while also aligning with the values and ethical standards of the credit union industry. Employee Relations & Advocacy - Serve as a trusted advisor to staff and leadership promoting a positive workplace culture rooted in mutual respect transparency and open communication. Learning & Development - Build and oversee training and development programs that support employee growth leadership readiness and succession planning. Culture & Engagement - Champion initiatives that reinforce our cooperative culture promote diversity and inclusion and enhance employee engagement across all levels. Data-Driven Insights - Leverage HR analytics to inform decision-making identify trends and continuously improve the employee experience.
Qualifications 10-15 years senior-level HR or organizational development leadership experience ideally within a credit union financial services or similarly regulated member-focused environment. M&A experience a plus. A balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution with the ability to navigate both the boardroom and the front lines. Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams. Deep knowledge of core HR disciplinestalent management employee relations compliance compensation and learning & development. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and influence across all levels of the organization. Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite A data-informed approach to problem-solving and decision-making. A genuine passion for cooperative values and creating a workplace where people thrive.
