POSITION SUMMARY

A Psychologist is required to offer services to families referred to the outpatient mental health program. The Psychologist will work with individuals and families providing psychological assessments interventions and consultative services within the CAPA (Choice and Partnership Approach) framework to care. CAPA is a service transformation model that combines collaborative and participatory practice with service users to enhance effectiveness leadership skills modelling and demand and capacity management. The Psychologist will work with children and youth up to 18 years old and their families providing assessment and evidence based individual family and group psychotherapy and interventions.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide comprehensive psychological assessment with a focus on diagnostic formulation as well as short-term interventions.

  • Provide psychological treatment using different approaches

  • Provide risk assessment and short-term crisis intervention services within Rapid Response Pathway

  • Facilitate parent groups

  • Liaise with community psychologists and other health care professionals

  • Provide supervision/training to pre-doctoral psychology interns and offer learning opportunities to other student professionals in training.

  • Work within CAPA framework

  • Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings.

  • Performs administrative tasks such as maintaining clinical documentation progress notes workload statistics and updating health records in accordance with established standards.

  • Participates in and supports clinical research activities with the inter-professional team members.

  • Carries other responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Vulnerable Sector Check (Level 3) (Essential)

  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from a CPA or APA accredited clinical psychology program (Essential)

  • Registration as a Psychologist in Ontario or eligibility for registration (Essential)

  • Designated practice as a Psychologist in the area of Clinical Psychology with children and adolescents (Essential)

  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in the assessment of children and adolescents presenting with severe and complex mental health problems (Essential)

  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in different individual psychotherapeutic modalities (e.g. CBT DBT TF-CBT etc.) (Essential)

  • Demonstrated experience running parenting groups (Essential)

  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in family therapy (Essential)

  • Experience in Group Facilitation (Essential)

  • Experience in a pediatric medical setting (Essential)

  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team (Essential)

  • Strong interpersonal skills ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals (Essential)

  • Bilingual Fluency in both French and English (Essential)

  • Supervision experience (Preferred)

  • Knowledge and experience with Choice and Partnership Approach (Preferred)

Nous recherchons un ou une psychologue pour les enfants et adolescents qui ont t rfr un programme de sant mentale pour patients externes. Le psychologue qui travaillera auprs dindividus et de familles offrira des interventions cliniques et des services de consultation selon lACP (Approche Choix et partenariats) relative aux soins. LACP est un modle de transformation des services qui combine la pratique collaborative et participative et les utilisateurs des services afin damliorer lefficacit le leadership la modlisation des comptences la gestion de la demande et de la capacit. Le ou la titulaire qui travaillera auprs denfants et dadolescents jusqu lge de 18 ans et de leur famille offrira des services de psychothrapie ainsi que des interventions individuelle familiale et de groupe fondes sur des donnes probantes.
