Environmental Science Associates (ESA) is seeking a highly motivated Senior Environmental Planner/Cultural Resources Specialist with the intellectual curiosity and initiative to help drive the growth of our dynamic team of environmental consultants in the Pacific Northwest. This is a cross-practice senior-level position with expertise in National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and Washington State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) processes Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act compliance and in leading tribal engagement efforts on a broad array of projects and issues. This position will report to ESAs Environmental Planning Team and will also provide services for ESAs Cultural Resources Team. This opportunity is focused on collaboration team building quality deliverables outstanding client service business development and being part of a growing team with a passion to do great work and have fun together. This position is based in Portland OR.

As a Senior Environmental Planner Tribal Engagement Strategist and Project Manager you will be focused on the pursuit and management of complex high-visibility projects that bring prestige and accolades to the firm and to our Pacific Northwest clients. The Environmental Planning and Cultural Resources practices include environmental and land planners environmental policy and permits specialists natural resources scientists pre-contact and historical archaeologists geoarchaeological specialists tribal consultation specialists architectural historians historians and paleontologists that provide expertise for local state and federal agencies throughout the Pacific Northwest. Our work matters because we assist agencies in ensuring that our nations history and that of the tribal communities with whom we work are protected where possible and treated with respect. In the Northwest our dynamic group of employee-owners is working on projects for clients such as the City of Bellevue City of Tacoma Pierce County King County the Port of Seattle City of Vancouver City of Bend City of Salem City of Camas and many other public and private sector clients. ESA has established multiple pay ranges tailored to the economic factors in the geographies in which ESA staff reside. For this position the range is approximately as listed based on our anticipated hiring locations as noted in the above job details. Actual compensation is determined by several factors including but not limited to an individuals related experience education skills and the city in which the applicant lives.
