The Department of Criminal Justice Services is seeking a collaborative and innovative team player to serve as a part-time (wage) Customer Service Specialist in Richmond Virginia. What you will do:
This position plays a key role in providing high-quality customer service to the Divisions entire constituent base. As one of the first points of contact for troubleshooting and problem-solving issues involving constituents processing applications and providing technical assistance this position provides the opportunity for direct customer assistance.
Minimum Qualifications
What the ideal candidate must possess:
Excellent customer service skills including effective oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated experience performing tasks associated with a fast-paced office environment.
Demonstrated experience operating a multi-line phone system.
Demonstrated experience processing mail.
Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
Demonstrated ability to enter data into a computer system quickly efficiently and accurately.
Ability to handle issues and problem solve.
The ability to learn new skills and subject matters quickly.
Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Office Suite to include but not limited to Word Excel Outlook Internet and e-mail software etc.
The ability to think strategically and cross-culturally and independently.
Documented experience working as an active contributing team member as well as an independent and self-motivated employee.
Demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlines handle multiple assignments changing priorities and ensure timeliness and quality of completed assignments.
Additional Considerations
Substantial customer service experience.
Experience providing technical information and support to customers in-person telephonically or via email correspondence.
Experience as an administrative assistant or office administration specialist.
Experience collecting and analyzing data researching and assembling information related to licensing.
Demonstrated knowledge of the regulatory programs in the Division of Licensure and Regulatory Services Administrative Code (Regulations) Virginia Code policies and procedures.
Special Instructions
Interview candidates may be required to demonstrate the skills and abilities necessary for satisfactory performance of work. The candidate selected for the position must successfully complete a criminal background investigation and complete and submit a Form I-9 (Employment Eligibility Verification) which will be entered into the Federal E-Verify system to confirm identity and work authorization. The individual may also be responsible for submitting an annual Statement of Personal Economic Interest. The anticipated starting salary range is $26.00 to $28.00 per hour up to 29 hours per week (1500 hours per wage year).
