Job Description
Our client is a full-service law firm that has been serving clients for over 150 years. They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced senior level attorney to join its Real Estate practice group. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in real estate law with a particular emphasis on land use and zoning matters. Litigation background a plus. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on complex and challenging projects for a diverse clientele including developers landowners and businesses.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive legal counsel and representation to clients on a wide range of real estate transactions including acquisitions sales leasing financing and development projects.
- Handle complex land use and zoning matters including subdivisions rezoning applications variances conditional use permits and appeals.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to identify potential legal issues and develop effective strategies.
- Draft and negotiate a variety of real estate contracts including purchase agreements leases and development agreements.
- Represent clients in administrative hearings zoning board meetings and litigation as needed.
- Stay current on relevant real estate land use and zoning laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals within the firm to provide seamless client service.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and admission to the NY Bar.
- 4 years experience practicing real estate law -focus on land use and zoning.
- Expertise in handling complex real estate transactions and land use matters.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Existing book of business to be discussed.
The salary range for this role is $200000-$250000 plus excellent benefits. Actual salary will be commensurate with the candidates qualifications and relevant experience.
