Job Description
Job Summary: University School is seeking an enthusiastic nurturing and creative Teacher to lead a developmentally appropriate and intellectually stimulating classroom for our youngest learners with the potential to teach in either the Early Childhood Early Primary or Kindergarten classroom. The ideal candidate will foster a love of learning while cultivating foundational academic social and emotional skills. This individual will create a warm safe and engaging environment that encourages exploration independence and joyful discovery in a dynamic school setting designed to both challenge and nurture young learners. Essential Functions (Responsibilities): Plans prepares and delivers engaging developmentally appropriate lessons across core subjects including literacy numeracy science and social studies. Differentiates instruction to meet the diverse learning needs abilities and interests of young learners. Designs and implements authentic assessments to monitor student growth and guide instruction. Fosters a classroom culture that values curiosity creativity resilience cooperation and respect. Incorporates inquiry-driven and play-based learning experiences that spark creativity and critical thinking. Maintains accurate records of student progress attendance and other required documentation. Demonstrates strong classroom management skills that promote positive relationships and are rooted in empathy and positive reinforcement. Communicates regularly and effectively with students parents and colleagues. Collaborates with colleagues in early education programs and primary grades to support student development. Participates in departmental meetings professional development and school-wide initiatives and events. Creates a safe inclusive and welcoming school environment for all. Other duties as assigned or requested by Director or Assistant Director.

Visual/Auditory Attention : Monitoring childrens safety and behavior.
Required Qualifications
Knowledge/Skill/Ability Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education Elementary Education or a related field required. Deep understanding of child development and best practices in early childhood education. Previous experience teaching primary or secondary school children (preferably in a school setting). Familiarity with gifted education differentiated instruction and inquiry-based learning. Ability to effectively integrate social-emotional learning and foundational academic skills. Ability to incorporate a variety of instructional strategies. Excellent communication organizational and interpersonal skills. Natural curiosity and commitment to continuous professional growth. A warm patient and responsive teaching style attuned to young childrens needs. Creative flexible and student-centered mindset. A collaborative spirit and willingness to contribute to a dynamic team. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Equivalent Education/Experience Training or experience in emergent literacy and numeracy instruction. Experience using educational technology and digital tools in age-appropriate ways. Training and experience in differentiated instruction and assessment.
