Job Description

Duties/Responsibilities

Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for the position of Graduate Assistant - Mens and Womens Tennis. This position reports directly to the Head Coach and is located in River Forest IL.

This position is responsible for assisting the head coach with the daily operations of the mens and womens tennis program at CUC. In addition to attending practices and matches the person in this role will be required to identify and coordinate the recruitment of prospective student-athletes through phone and email as well as in-person evaluations while also managing the recruitment database. The candidate also need to abide by all written policies procedures and guidelines of CUC NACC and NCAA and complete other duties as assigned by the Head Tennis Coach.

Candidates must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a Concordia University Chicago graduate program.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Assists the head coach with the daily operations of the mens and womens tennis program at CUC
  • Attending all practices and competitions.
  • Identify and coordinate the recruitment of prospective student-athletes through phone and email as well as in-person evaluations.
  • Abide by all written policies procedures and guidelines of NACC NCAA and all applicable conferences or associations.
  • Assistant with management of web-based recruiting software.
  • Data entry (must be proficient with Microsoft Office).
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Head Tennis Coach.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

Successful coaching at the high school level or playing and/or coaching experience at the collegiate level is required.

Ability to work an untraditional work schedule (i.e. frequent nights and weekends)

Bachelors degree required.

Must be continuously enrolled for at least 6 hours each in the fall and spring semesters (regardless of when the hours are taken during the semester) and at least 3 hours in the summer semester.

Candidates must support and be committed to the mission and identity of Concordia University Chicago a university of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS).
