The Department of Public Safety is filling multiple DPS Service Employee positions in the Phoenix area. These positions are designed to provide training and experience while performing administrative and clerical tasks. The successful candidates will perform special projects functions and administrative tasks working business hours Monday - Friday. Under direct supervision performs work in a structured or unstructured program to gain practical work experience in one of the administrative professional or technical fields within the Department. May rotate from assignment to assignment within the agency to learn and contribute to administrative professional or technical processes. Performs related duties as assigned. This classification is designated asuncovered. Incumbent serves at the pleasure of the Director of the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent by start of employment.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must complete an examination process. A polygraph and background investigation are required for successful applicants. DPS supports a drug-free work environment through pre-employment drug testing.
If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business then the following requirements apply: Drivers License Requirements. All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period.
