Job Description:

Essential Functions of the Job:

Recruit Hire Train Supervise and Evaluate assigned professional and paraprofessional staff for assigned processes. Ensure timely completion of processes including case resolution dean certification admission review and more while maintaining compliance with institutional policies regulations relevant laws and mandated reporting.

Effectively Recruit Train Convene hearing and appeal bodies for case resolutions. Ensure fair consistent processes for all hearing bodies including but not limited to Individual Hearing Officers Student Conduct Committee Greek Conduct Committee Student Health Science Conduct Committee University Officials Board and Appeal bodies. Act as an Appeal Body Administrative/Individual Hearing Officer and Investigator for allegations of misconduct as needed.

Provide expert consultation to a wide variety of campus and community members regarding student behavior and education including conflict resolution the first amendment effectively addressing behavioral concerns and university resolution processes. Facilitate presentations and programs regarding the student conduct academic integrity and conflict resolution services to faculty staff and students and other stakeholders on an ongoing basis. Collaborate with Enrollment Management UF Compliance CARE Housing & Residence Life Sorority and Fraternity Life Academic Affairs Office of the General Counsel Ombuds Law Enforcement and other stakeholders to ensure coordinated student support and compliance.

Provide oversight of investigations related to organizational misconduct non-title IX sexual misconduct and other related processes. Work collaboratively with campus partners law enforcement and external stakeholders.

Review incidents for interim measure and recommend to Dean of Students or Designee. Serve as a back-up for senior administrators for crisis and emergency situations and other university-wide roles related to students. Serve on-call and as a consultant for Emergency Dean On-Call staff and others as needed.

Serve as a member of the Universitys Threat Assessment Team and follow up with students of concern as necessary including bringing admissions reviews to the team for threat assessment.

Oversee the management of student conduct data/software to ensure compliance with institutional policies regulations relevant laws and mandated reporting. Regularly produce data and statistical information for various assessment projects as directed.

Coordinate Conflict Resolution offerings including conflict coaching facilitated dialogues mediation mutual agreement restorative justice and shuttle diplomacy as well as educational workshops on conflict resolution.

Complete other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean of Students or other appropriate administrator.

Expected Salary:

$85000-$95000

Required Qualifications:

Masters degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a bachelors degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience.

Position requires a criminal background check.

Preferred:

Masters degree in student affairs higher education or related field or juris doctorate with ten or more years of professional experience.

Demonstrated experience as an Associate Director (number two) or Director of Student Conduct at a large public-serving university as well as significant experience in staff supervision and directing a program or service area including motivating and evaluating staff to ensure operational success.

Working knowledge of Clery VAWA Title IX Title VI FERPA and other applicable laws and regulations. Strong understanding of current and pending federal state and local legislative matters as they affect Student Life and universities. Skilled in creating and refining policies that align with legal and institutional requirements.

Significant expertise in two or more areas of restorative practices and dispute resolution sexual misconduct and other investigations organizational conduct and threat assessment and management.

Must be well versed in quality data collection to ensure adequacy accuracy and legitimacy of data in university systems and be able to strictly follow data privacy and security procedures for data handling and analysis to ensure adherence to legal and institutional standards.

Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience with collegiate conduct systems. Experience as a Level 5 administrator in the Maxient system preferred.

Evidence of establishing effective working relationships with students faculty staff and external stakeholders. Strong ability to present information train staff and students and foster clear dialogue across the University and beyond.

Exceptional writing communication skills mediation counseling and investigatory skills are essential. Ability to maintain confidentiality ethical standards when handling sensitive issues.
