Job Description

The Orthodontics department at the College of Dentistry is looking for a full-time Dental Assistant! Responsibilities:

Dental Assistant GC25 (Merit)
College of Dentistry Orthodontics

Dental Science Building
Salary: $46604.16 (Pay Grade: 08)

An advanced starting salarymaybe possible based on exceptional qualifications.

Schedule: Monday Friday 8:00am 5:00pm

May require occasional overtime.

Work Location: On-Site

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Successful completion of a CODA accredited dental assistance program or one year full time equivalency in chairside assistant experience assisting in four-handed method of dentistry.

Must have a current certificate of registration to practice as a dental assistant issued by the Iowa Board of Dental Examiners. (QDA)

Must possess current Iowa certificate of proficiency in dental radiography. (QDA)

No additional work experience beyond the requirements for this position.

May require Expanded Functions (EF-1 and/or EF-2) based on specific needs assigned by provider.

Desirable Qualifications:

Experience with electronic health record.

Experience taking digital records (e.g. intraoral scanning).

Orthodontic experience in a clinic setting.

Experience with children/adolescents.

Experience working with individuals with craniofacial anomalies.

Excellent verbal written and interpersonal communication skills.
