General Summary:
TheWelderposition is responsible for setting fitting and welding various assemblies to be used in the construction of our air handling equipment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintains a high focus on safety and quality within the department
- Identify work to be performed via MII or SAP work center priority and access unit and assembly drawings
- Reads and interprets blueprints and machine drawings to determine specific welding requirements
- Size up components and verify they are within specified tolerances
- Set up weld equipment for specific task to be performed
- Weld components using proper equipment and techniques
- Grind and finish welds to make aesthetically appealing
- Operate material handling equipment as needed based on safety guidelines
- Perform daily housekeeping tasks (5S) and preventative maintenance tasks
- High level of focus and concentration level to ensure quality work and to avoid safety hazards
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Between 6-12 months welding experience required
- Basic Math & Computer skills required
- Ability to pass welding test on material in use required
- Ability to safely operate equipment (welder torch plasma cutter grinder material handling equipment) required
- Ability to operate basic hand/power tools and read measuring devices
- Ability distinguish the various thickness and types of material
- Strong attention to detail and high focus on safety and quality
- Ability to communicate effectively
Physical Demands:
- Must lift up to 50 lbs. on a routine basis
- Stand for a minimum of 8 hours per day
- Continuous lifting kneeling pulling bending etc.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Greenheck Group takes pride in providing competitive pay along with a comprehensive benefits package as part of our total rewards starting rate of $25.09/hour with regular increases reaching $27.69/hour.
