Join our dynamic and fast paced team in Legal function. This is a unique opportunity for you to be a part of our Legal function in India and partner with Securities Services in multiple markets.

Job summary:

As a Vice President Securities Services Legal in our Legal team you will be an integral part of the APAC and EMEA Securities Services legal teams. You will advise and support the Securities Services business in multiple markets across APAC and EMEA which perform various services to clients include global custody and sub-custody services fund administrative services agency securities financing depositary services and collateral services for mutual and pension funds managed investment schemes multi-national corporations banks and non-bank financial institutions and government bodies worldwide. Being part of the Securities Services Legal team you will collaborate and work closely withother lawyers and business partners located in Asia-Pacific (APAC) and Europe Middle-East and Africa (EMEA).

Job responsibilities:

  • Providing leadership management and oversight for a team of lawyers based in Mumbai.
  • Working collaboratively support build and manage relationships with regional lawyers in Hong Kong Australia London and other locations to support Securities Services businesses across APAC and EMEA.
  • Drafting and negotiating a variety of Securities Services contracts (e.g. global & direct custody agreements fund services agreements subcustodian agreements securities lending agreements and collateral management services agreements etc.) with clients of the firm.
  • Providing legal guidance and support to business partners such as Sales Product Client Service and Operations and Control Partners.
  • Supporting global and regional Securities Services projects and initiatives.

Required qualifications capabilities and skills:

  • Minimum 10 years of post-qualification legal experience (either as in-house counsel in the financial services industry or as a lawyer in a top-tier law firm).
  • Successful track record in leading and managing a team of high performing lawyers.
  • Ability to work independently delegate and manage others.
  • Strong drafting negotiation and legal analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and proactively manage workflow in a multi-jurisdictional transaction environment.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • Ability to communicate and articulate legal issues effectively and practically with colleagues at all levels and across different jurisdictions and functions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build close rapport with internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify risks exercise good judgment and escalate issues in a timely manner to relevant stakeholders.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English

Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills:

Prior experience in custody funds and/or securities related services or in transaction banking will be an advantage.
