Job Description

  • Provide clinical leadership and specialist expertise in maternal mental health and trauma
  • A 1-year fixed term part time 8-12 hours per week in either Auckland/Wellington/Christchurch
  • Shape the future of maternal and ICAMH/AOD workforce development

The opportunity

Step into a senior clinical leadership role within a high-performing collaborative team dedicated to make evidence-based practice-informed ICAMH workforce development truly accessible.  You will bring clinical subject matter expertise to the forefront in maternal mental health and trauma.  You will develop targeted programmes and champion initiatives that support and empower the needs of the maternal and ICAMH/AOD workforce.  If youre ready to make a meaningful difference wed love to hear from you.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate workforce development initiatives across both online and in-person platforms.
  • Equip kaimahi with the tools and strategies they need to apply knowledge meaningfully in their day-to-day practice.
  • Work with diverse perspectives and weave together ideas and expertise to create cohesive and impactful programmes.
  • With a strong understanding of cultural safety youll guide workers to implement new approaches that reflect the values and needs of the communities they serve.

Qualifications :

Your skills and experience:

It is essential for you to hold:

  • Relevant advanced post graduate clinical qualifications within maternal and infant child and youth mental health i.e. psychology social work psychiatry senior practitioner mental health nursing. 
  • 10 years post graduate experience in infant child and youth mental health and wellbeing and addictions fields.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of infant child youth and family/whnau mental health and AOD.
  • Experience in Aotearoa New Zealand mental health and addiction sector with knowledge of workforce needs and issues.
  • Experience in developing and delivering adult education training programmes.
  • Superior interpersonal and written communication skills. 
  • Understanding of adult learning styles and best practice approaches.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and an ability to apply this in practice.
