Job Description

Notre Dame Seminary
Communications and Fundraising Coordinator

Notre Dame Seminary is seeking a full-time Communications and Fundraising Coordinator to join the Development Office. Reporting to and working closely with the Director of Development the Communications and Fundraising Coordinator is responsible for developing and executing both traditional and digital communication initiatives to engage alumni donors and the broader seminary community. This role includes managing digital and print communications and social media managing the seminary website and supporting fundraising efforts to strengthen the seminarys mission and visibility. The coordinator will also work closely with the development team and administration to enhance relationships with external stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities

Marketing & Communications

Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy to engage alumni benefactors and the wider seminary community.
Manage all digital and print communication channels including the website social media newsletters and promotional and recruitment materials.
Create compelling content that highlights seminary news and mission-driven initiatives.
Oversee the design production and distribution of seminary publications including the bi-annual newsletters annual appeal materials event invitations and programs and other pieces as needed.
Update and maintain the organizations website with fresh content ensuring accuracy and user-friendly navigation.
Capture photographs at seminary events to share on social media and in newsletters
Capture and produce promotional videos to enhance engagement and storytelling.

Development & Fundraising Support

Manage digital fundraising campaigns including the Seminarian Benefactors Guild and Giving Days (i.e. Giving Tuesday and Give NOLA Day) to encourage online giving and donor retention.
Manage all online giving platforms and donation forms.
Collaborate with the development team to support fundraising initiatives particularly overseeing online and recurring giving and donor stewardship and assisting with annual appeal and phone-a-thon
Assist in creating targeted communications for donor appeals stewardship letters and fundraising events.
Track and analyze engagement metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of outreach and communication efforts.
Provide general administrative support to the Development Office such as managing calendars organizing files handling correspondence and answering donor inquiries.
Assist with all fundraising events in various capacities including but not limited to taking photos of auction items entering auction items into OneCause promoting events etc.
Contribute ideas for new fundraising initiatives and engagement strategies.
Perform other duties as needed
Provide support to the Director of Development as needed.

Key Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Communications Marketing or related field
1-3 years of experience in communications marketing or nonprofit development preferred
Strong writing editing and storytelling skills with experience in digital and print media
Proficiency in social media management email marketing platforms and content management systems
Strong verbal and written communication skills required including the ability to write edit and proofread documents
Computer proficiency a must including Microsoft Office (Word Excel and Outlook) and Google Suite (Docs Sheets Calendar etc.)
Must be proficient with Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop InDesign and Illustrator. Experience with design for print and electronic media required
Must have experience with photography videography and video editing
Knowledge and experience using database and event software such as Bloomerang and OneCause
Highly ethical particularly in working with confidential and sensitive information
Professional appearance and demeanor as well as punctual and reliable attendance are essential
Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends as needed
Must be committed to the mission of Notre Dame Seminary and possess the ability to communicate this mission effectively. Must conduct all activities in line with the mission of the seminary and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
