Associate Trial Attorney - Insurance Defense Litigation
Location: St. Petersburg FL (100% On-Site)
Position Type: Full-Time Associate Attorney
Compensation: $90000 - $120000 base bonus potential (DOE)
Billable Requirement: 150 hours minimum / 170 hours expected

Based in St. Petersburg this firm is looking to add a sharp motivated Associate Trial Attorney to its team of litigation professionals.
This is not a volume mill. The team focuses on high-quality complex general liability and third-party defense work representing clients in commercial disputes premises liability and professional negligence matters across the state of Florida.

What Youll Be Doing

Case Ownership: Manage your own caseload of litigated defense matters under supervision of senior trial attorneys

Client Representation: Attend depositions mediations and pre-trial conferences; handle hearings and eventually first-chair trials

Legal Strategy: Draft and argue dispositive motions analyze case value and advise clients on legal risk and resolution options

Team Collaboration: Work closely with litigation support staff and experienced attorneys to develop litigation strategy and ensure compliance with court deadlines

Courtroom Advocacy: Prepare for and participate in trial proceedings and evidentiary hearings with confidence and preparation
Ideal Candidate Profile

Must-Haves
2-6 years of experience in civil litigation (insurance defense strongly preferred)
Licensed to practice in Florida and in good standing with the FL Bar
Skilled in motion practice depositions and courtroom proceedings
Ability to manage deadlines maintain organized files and communicate clearly
Positive team-player attitude and willingness to learn from seasoned litigators
Nice-to-Haves
Prior experience in general liability or third-party insurance defense
Familiarity with Florida civil procedure and courtroom practices
Interest in trial work with the drive to first chair in the near future
Not currently or previously running your own law firm
