Job Description

Join Xavier Universitys University Relations Team

Annual Giving Officer and Assistant Director for Parent Engagement and Philanthropy
Are you passionate about relationship-building and mission-driven work Xavier University is seeking two full-time advancement professionals to join the Division of University Relations a team committed to engaging alumni parents and friends in meaningful ways to advance the Universitys Jesuit mission.

We are hiring for the following full-time onsite positions:

1. Annual Giving Officer

Department: Office of the Annual Fund

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a personal portfolio of annual giving prospects and conduct 150 significant contacts annually
  • Solicit and renew annual gifts to grow Xaviers donor base
  • Attend University events to identify and cultivate new prospects
  • Collaborate with Alumni Relations and University Engagement teams to develop chapter-specific fundraising initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and a minimum of 2 years of professional experience (preferably in fundraising sales or relationship management)
  • Strong communication skills and a goal-oriented mindset

2. Assistant Director for Parent Engagement and Philanthropy

Department: Office of Alumni and Parent Relations
Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate relationships with prospective and current parent donors through visits events phone outreach and correspondence
  • Solicit and secure annual gifts from the parent community
  • Lead the Parent Leadership Council (PLC) including recruitment engagement and event planning
  • Coordinate bi-annual PLC meetings and collaborate across campus to deepen parent engagement

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and a minimum of 2 years of professional experience (ideally in advancement volunteer management or higher education)
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

Required Experience

  • A minimum of 1 to 2 years of professional experience in fundraising development or a related field
  • Proven track record of achieving fundraising goals and increasing donor engagement
  • Experience managing a donor portfolio and building long-term relationships
  • Familiarity with annual giving programs and strategies within higher education
  • Demonstrated success in soliciting and securing gifts from individuals
  • Experience working with alumni parents and other key constituents
  • Understanding of the philanthropic landscape and donor giving trends
  • Experience coordinating and collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Background in developing and managing fundraising events and initiatives
  • Experience with budget management and financial reporting in a fundraising context
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical guidelines related to fundraising and donor relations
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution preferably in a related field such as communications marketing public relations or nonprofit management
