Job Description
Abilene High School is seeking a motivated individual to serve as an Assistant Boys Basketball Coach. The ideal candidate will support the head coach in developing a competitive program that exemplifies and re-enforces our athletic/activity core values of commitment effort and teamwork. This position is a great opportunity for someone passionate about mentoring student-athletes and contributing to a strong positive team culture.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist the head coach with planning and executing practices games and offseason training.
- Support player development through skill instruction fundamentals and strategies.
- Model and re-enforce our core values of commitment effort and teamwork.
- Build relationships with players and help monitor academic progress.
- Communicate effectively with athletes families and school staff.
- Help manage equipment uniforms and game-day preparation.
- Collaborate with coaching staff to ensure vertical alignment between our youth middle and high school program.
- Adhere to all school district and KSHSAA policies and expectations.
