Job Description

Job Description Summary

Unison is the leading provider of differentiated engine controls accessories and performance monitoring solutions in the Aerospace Defense & Space segments. Serving both original equipment manufacturers and aftermarket customers Unison designs manufactures and supplies the most advanced components and systems in the world.

Responsible for overseeing daily plant operations to ensure reliability and consistency across the production line for the TDI Starter Business as well as Surface Coolers and Bellows. This role directly impacts the quality of work produced both individually and collaboratively within the team. Tasks are executed within a structured operational framework adhering to established instructions and routines. Success in this position requires following a clear sequence of standardized operational processes to achieve desired outcomes efficiently and effectively.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of night shift employees.
  • Provide guidance training and support to team members.
  • Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts promptly.

Safety:

  • Ensure all employees adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety checks and address any hazards immediately.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness among the team.

Quality:

  • Monitor work processes to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Address any quality issues and implement corrective actions as needed.

Delivery:

  • Ensure production schedules and deadlines are met during the night shift.
  • Coordinate with other departments and 1st shift to maintain workflow continuity.

Cost Management:

  • Optimize resources to minimize waste and control costs.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies.

Reporting and Communication:

  • Prepare and submit shift reports detailing production safety and quality metrics.
  • Communicate effectively with day shift supervisors and management to ensure smooth transitions.

Problem-Solving:

  • Address operational issues promptly and implement solutions.
  • Escalate complex problems to management when necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in manufacturing)

Desired Characteristics

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role preferably in a night shift setting.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g. scheduling systems reporting tools).

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore for applicants who are not asylees refugees lawful permanent residents or U.S. Citizens (i.e. not a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) otherwise known as a U.S. Person) final offers will be contingent on the ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
