Job Description
The color specialists are responsible for the production and certification of small-scale custom color orders hazmat products and other critical processes. These batches require qualification methods data entry and reworking formulas to achieve an accurate color. Hazmat production requires following specific safety procedures and data entry. Support for complaint investigation or experimental batches is also part of this job.
Additional Information:
Monday - Friday 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM
This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Companys applicable plans.
Job duties include contact with other employees operating heavy machinery and access to proprietary information raw materials finished merchandise and/or other items of value and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Companys staff employees and vendors.
Responsibilities
- Manage custom color and small batch orders working with Supervisor to ensure on time delivery.
- Operate and maintain production equipment used for the manufacture and packaging of floor coating materials.
- Follow assigned production schedule including processing of batch tickets while maintaining a high level of product quality.
- Responsible for documentation on batch tickets and submitting all batch tickets.
- Perform assembly and packaging duties in accordance with written product specifications and company SOPs.
- Perform in-process and finished inspections; includes visual and functional verifications along with required written documentation.
- Records inspection results and completes appropriate documentation for nonconforming products/materials
- Supports Quality team with researching non-conforming material and customer complaints.
- Supports R&D and Engineering with transition to production of new product by completing pilot quality and color studies.
- Ability to package/produce all liquid production materials and adjust color using the iColor equipment.
- Follow all Environmental Hazard and Safety regulations and guidelines including active participation in safety programs.
- Perform and participate in general housekeeping activities.
- Participation toward completion of other related tasks and duties as directed or needed
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
- Must have one (1) year experience in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Have at least one (1) year experience matching and adjusting colored batches
- Have at least one (1) year experience working with small batch products
- Have at least one (1) year experience in a manufacturing quality role
- Have at least one (1) year of work experience operating mobile power equipment such as lift trucks tow motors or pallet handling equipment order pickers high lifts forklifts or cherry pickers
- Have at least completed formal training in and/or do you have at least one (1) year of work experience applying continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma 5-S Lean Manufacturing Transactional Lean etc.
