Job Description

The Collection Driver / Swamper under the direction of the Transportation Supervisor will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection of scrap tires throughout the Calgary region. The role supports company goals related to safety timely service customer interaction and quality of service delivery. Drivers will also assist with loading/unloading and tire handling as needed.


Looking for Candidates:

  • Full-time permanent position
  • Must be available for some weekend work and to cover during staff holidays
  • Route-based work in Calgary and surrounding areas


Wages:

  • Starting hourly wage: $20.25 per hour
  • Commission: $2.70 per tonne for local routes and $3.45 per tonne for non-local routes
  • After 3 months: Hourly wage increases to $21.75
  • After 1 year: Commission increases to $2.75 per tonne (local) and $3.55 per tonne (non-local)


Responsibilities:

  • Rubber Product bagging station operation
  • Packages material under given parameters
  • Tags all products accurately and properly and places in the designated areas
  • Ensures all equipment is kept clean in the work area
  • Reports any problems to supervisor immediately
  • Communicate with manager/employees before the shift to determine any issues
  • Performs all functions according to proper company safety practices and regulations
  • Maintains good communication with fellow workers supervisors and managers
  • Performs other duties as required


Requirements:

  • Previous labor experience is preferred
  • Class 5 Drivers License and must have own means of transportation
  • Mechanically inclined is an asset
  • Hand tools and powered hand tool knowledge is an asset
  • Ability to understand and follow directions accurately
  • Knowledge of proper safety procedures in and around equipment and machines
  • Good communication skills oral and written
  • Good hand eye coordination
  • Ability to learn new tasks quickly and apply them accurately
  • Ability to work in inclement weather
