HIRING RANGE DOQ: $34.35 - $37.38 hourly
DEADLINE FOR FILING: Tuesday July 29th 2025
JOB SUMMARY
Enforce the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) and the City electrical ordinances through examination of plans and onsite inspections of industrial commercial and residential construction.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from high school or GED certification with a minimum of six (6) years experience as an electrician with two (2) of those years as a journeyman electrician in commercial residential and/or industrial electrical installations; or any such combination of education experience and training as may be acceptable to the hiring authority.
Must possess or be able to obtain prior to hire a valid drivers license.
Must possess or be able to obtain electrical inspectors license from the South Dakota Electrical Commission within one year (12 months) of hire. An electrical inspector certification from the International Association of Electrical Inspectors or the International Code Council is desirable.

The City participates in the South Dakota Retirement System. Employees receive a 6% match. Additionally employees may choose to enroll in a Deferred Compensation Plan.

11 paid holidays and 2 personal leave days each calendar year.
New employees are granted 40 hours of vacation at time of hire and accrue an additional 2 weeks in their first year.
Sick leave accrues over 96 hours per year.
