Job Details:

The Lead Infrastructure Engineer leads the design implementation and maintenance of the organizations infrastructure systems. They provide guidance mentorship and technical leadership to ensure reliability scalability and security. This role requires proficiency in current industry hardware standards and innovation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing advanced infrastructure solutions including network architecture server setups storage systems and virtualization technologies.
  • Offering technical direction and support to cross-functional teams mentoring junior engineers and encouraging collaboration.
  • Facilitate collaborative sessions with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and convert them into scalable and efficient infrastructure solutions.
  • Conduct sessions with cross-functional teams to discuss performance analysis capacity planning and optimization of infrastructure systems ensuring high availability.
  • Implementing and sustaining security protocols to safeguard infrastructure systems from potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Optimize and manage AWS or Azure cloud services for cost-effectiveness and scalability.
  • Using tools like Ansible Terraform or Puppet to automate infrastructure deployment configuration and monitoring.
  • Lead DevOps collaboration to integrate infrastructure-as-code for seamless deployment and continuous integration.
  • Keeping abreast of emerging technologies industry trends and best practices in infrastructure management while proposing enhancements to improve system performance.
  • Perform additional duties related to our organizations vision mission and values within your scope of practice.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors Degree or relevant experience. Computer Science or Computer Engineering Preferred.

Preferred Certification(s): Any relevant IT Certification.

Experience: 5 years of relevant and practical experience in infrastructure management network administration or system engineering.

Position Specific Skills:

  • Mobile device management: Experience with InTune or JAMF preferred.
  • Windows imaging and packaging (SCCM Autopilot)
  • Managing Windows Active Directory policies
  • Windows 365 Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
  • Migration tools by Quest
  • Scripting and Power Automate Solutions

Special Skills:

  • Competence in scripting languages
  • Significant experience with virtualization technologies including VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Comprehensive understanding of security protocols and best practices.

Soft Skills:

  • Mentoring: Mentoring and coaching of junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities for infrastructure planning.
  • Problem-solving: Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities for complex
  • infrastructure challenges.
  • Strategic Alignment: Aligning technical solutions with long-term business goals.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Working effectively with various departments and stakeholders including vendors and MSPs.
  • Conflict Resolution: Addressing and resolving team conflicts and technical
  • disagreements.
  • Skill Development: Developing the skills and capabilities of team members
  • Knowledgeable in ServiceNow and Copilot applications.
